The Farmlink Project
About
We grow enough food to feed every person on the planet, yet each year 1/3rd of that food is being thrown in landfills while over 40 million Americans are food insecure. If all that food waste were a country, it would be the third largest source of greenhouse gas emissions behind just the United States and China. The Farmlink Project is a student-founded nonprofit which solves this through connecting farms with surplus food to communities across the United States. Founded at the onset of the pandemic, the group has rescued nearly 200 million pounds of food from going to waste, thus helping families, ending food waste, and healing our planet.
