I love Asking Alexandria’s music. My kids knew exactly who they were when I told them I had won and they’re so excited for me. As for the cause, I’m a therapeutic foster mom to 2 boys who have experienced immense physical and mental abuse + neglect. I’m also a step mom to two daughters who have trauma and have made the decision to stay with their dad and me. I’m a bio mom to the happiest kid I know who’s on the spectrum.. and then there’s me who has only really started understanding my own trauma within the last 2 years. Music has always been my go to for a mental break. When I was S.A.’d and bullied in HS, when I felt like dancing and happy, when I found out my dad’s cancer came back and it was terminal.. when I drive to work and I have 30 mins to myself... its always been music. Asking Alexandria has been with me on those car rides as well. I’m beyond honored to help with the cause even if I hadn’t won.
