About
Debris Free Oceans is a Miami-based organization that inspires local communities to go zero waste so all can have access to clean oceans and a healthy environment.
Since its inception in 2014, Debris Free Oceans has educated over 15,000 students about plastic pollution, mobilized 12,000 volunteers to remove more than 64,000 pounds of trash, hosted 500+ zero-waste events, eliminated over 2 million disposable items from the waste stream, and launched two local government programs to tackle plastic pollution at its source. Today, Debris Free Oceans spearheads Zero Waste Miami, a coalition uniting businesses, government agencies, and community members to scale circular economy solutions.
